Are online classes effective?

Online classes are just as effective if not more effective than face to face classes. Why? You don´t waste time if you are late to class, stuck in traffic, pulling out pencils and paper. Youo are ready and preprared just before class starts, you miss less classes due to the flexibility of being able to have the classes on another day.

Are 30 minute classes worth it?

The attention of children is shorter than adults, typically children up to the age of 13 do better with 15 to 30 minute classes where they pay attention the most.

• By age 4, attention span increases to about 8 - 12 minutes.

• By age 5, your child’s attention span is most likely10 - 14 minutes.

• By age 6, 12 - 18 minutes

When children are trained or classes have short 5 minute break in between the lessons as they shift from one activity to the next this helps children to pay attention for a longer period of time. If children can pay attention for hours on video games nowadays they can surely spend the same time on something of value like learnig a new skill. However, it depends on your child´s personality too, some children and more hands on rather then spending hours on writing whereas other children can spend hours writing or drawing. It goes by your child´s preferences and interests and if we can combine those in class it will be worth while.

Are online classes harder?

Classes will only be hard if you believe they are going to be.If you think about the class positively and without fear and anxiousness they will become very calm and peaceful. People think that having a class online is harder to understand but you can see the teacher on the live video stream.Most teachers in schools have to wear masks which makes it harder for students to learn as they can´t see the positioning of the mouth to gain the correct pronunciation.

The teacher can change the speed of talking to suit the students ability and needs so you don´t need to worry if you will understand. The teacher understands you are learning a new language and expects to repeat things if necessary and often for you to understand.

Are online classes more expensive?

It all depends on on what company you compare it with and what they offer. Private schools in the UK can charge up to 9000 pounds per year nowadays, and most classes in the UK are priced at 20 pound per lesson. At ACE Academy we take into consideration families and siblings. Most academies use books which will incur extra costs, whereas online classes make the use of online e-books which omit the cost of buying books. There are tons of resources online that the teacher can revert to without printing. Online classes are generally less expensive but it doesn´t cut out the quality and value of delivering classes that are tailored to your needs.

Can I book longer classes?

Yes, if you do wish to book longer classes then please contact us and we can arrange that depending on the teacher´s schedule and match the student with the correct student.

Can I request to change teacher´s?

Depending on the reason for request we can look at changing your child´s teacher, however we really do prefer that students stay with a tutor forthe full duration of the paid course that you have booked.

What do I need?

All we ask is to bring yourself, a book and pen, a device that can connect to the platform Zoom, good WIFI connection and headphone set. If you would like to use any other extra accessories such as digital pads, keyboards and a mouse for these can also be used. For some activities mobill phones may also be needed for children to select quiz answers.
